September 12, 2009 - Chuck Dorgan and Mike Vincitore begin an acoustic duo

Brian & Amy Scheid, fans of both Master Thieves and Dark Hollow, asked Chuck if he would do a solo acoustic show for their annual summer ending party.  Not feeling too comfortable with the solo thing, Chuck asked Mike Vincitore of Dark Hollow if he would be interested in joining him for the gig.  Mike obliged and the two of them started working on acoustic material which included solo originals from both musicians as well as covers from Grateful Dead, Van Morrison, Rolling Stones, Warren Zevon, and Bob Dylan.  The party was a big a success and the two musicians are now currently booking more acoustic gigs.

Thanks Brian and Amy for your hospitality and great party!

March 5, 2009 - Master Thieves goto Norwich?

Golden hosts the Master Thieves at Fort Squaterdale Recording Studio in Norwich, NY.  Mark, Denise, Eric, and Chuck made the 1 1/2 hour trek out to Norwich to record a new demo CD.

The 2 day recording session was a great opportunity for the Thieves to spend some quality time together and a blast jamming old tunes and some future new originals.  The new demo CD should be ready for distribution by mid-March.

February 2, 2009 - New members in Master Thieves

I would like to introduce the following new members of the band.

Eric Tozer on the drums, joined the band in December 2008.  With only 4 practice sessions under his belt, he managed to rip up the beats for 3 1/2 hours at back-to-back shows (Jake's Grub & Grog and Coleman's).  Eric brings a ton of experience to the band with past projects in Happiness Hotel and Plainman Brown.  We quickly found out that Eric is not just a drummer, but a percussionist.  Eric layed down some sweet tracks with the djembe on a new studio version of No Slowing Down during our recent session at Fort Squaterdale Recording Studio.

Brian Golden on guitar, joined the Thieves in January 2009.  Golden was introduced to the band by Eric Tozer.  Eric has been friends and fellow band member with Golden for about 15 years playing in Happiness Hotel and Plainman Brown together.  He brings a lot of versatility to the Thieves specializing in blues.  Golden has especially gel'd with guitarist Chuck Dorgan as they both share the pursuit for that perfect overdriven tone.  Golden also plays guitar with the Bad Weather Blues Band out of Binghamton, NY.

Brian Vischi, sound engineer, assists in perfecting the Thieves live sound.  Vischi immediately made a huge impact during his first gig at Coleman's show on January 31.

September 10, 2008 - Amber Inn & Aherin's Pub at Split Rock

August 23 - We headed back to Amber Inn to close out the summer.  As always, we had a great crowd there.  Always a fun time at the Amber Inn.  We would like to thank Joe Perry and Doug Lin for their inspirational acoustic opening act.

M.T. made it's debut at Aherin's Pub at Split Rock on September 6.  The band had a great time and the dance floor was full all night long.  The crowd at Aherin's was awesome.  We would like to thank Steve Kaufman (81 South) for coming up and joining the band for a couple tunes.  Additionally, we had guest appearances from Dave Kwasigroch and Jake Laufer to close out the evening singing American Pie with Kenny Tyminski strumming the chords.

April 7, 2008 - Thieves busy playing all over CNY

Master Thieves ROCKED Bull & Bear at the Syracuse Winter Fest WinterJams!

Master Thieves made their debut at Coleman's Irish Pub on April 3.  It was a successful outing with a crew dancing until 1:30am.

Next, M.T. plans to hit the recording studio to put together a small compilation of original music.  Yes, we write music.  No, we're not just a cover band.

May is a busy month for the Thieves as we travel all over CNY playing in Cato, Marietta, and Auburn.  The band really looks forward to playing in Auburn to help raise money for the Patrick Townsend family.  He was hit by a car back in October and has suffered severe brain trauma. He is in a rehab facility in Schenectady, NY.  If you are planning to only attend one M.T. show this year, please make it this one, it's for a good cause.

March 6, 2007 - Nothing to report

We lost yet another band member, Steve LaDue.  No, I did not fire him!  For now, I'm concentrating on my own solo stuff seeing I'm not doing all that great of a job leading a band.

I just finished recording my own version of Grateful Dead's Althea per request of the infamous, HOSS.  Goto my MP3 page to download it and load it on your iROD immediately!  Later

November 5, 2006 - Acoustic Stuff and Master Thieves News.

Recently I've been working with Todd Hess to put together a couple acoustic tunes to play at the Mike & Joe Acoustic Show.  Todd is playing mandolin while I strum through some chords and choke on my harmonica.  Here's a couple tunes from our first practice session.  More to come on this one.

Master Thieves has yet another new guitar player.  His name is Nate Scicchitano.  This cat can play.  Master Thieves has a private party on November 18.

June 10, 2006 - Todd Wranesh Private Party

The band with no name made it's debut at Todd Wranesh's kegger, I mean house-warming party.  Dave Mulvaney did a great job playing lead guitar and John Goldworthy was his usual mad-man behind the drums.  The weather sucked and forced us to setup in Todd's one car garage, but we made the most of it and jammed to an awesome crowd.

Guest musician, Keith Renfrew, came up and played some of his favorites, while Dave and I noodled around trying play along.

Lawyers, Guns and Money seem to be a crowd pleaser along with Dave's screaming solo for All Along The Watchtower.
